During my three-month internship at Paper Braun Productions, I worked as a Design and Fabrication intern on their paper cutout stop-motion short ‘The Enchanted Check-Up’ a whimsical story about Ned, a character who transforms into a dinosaur in the human world.

My role spanned across multiple stages of pre-production and design, including helping to create a storyboard, creating the animatic, character and background design, as well as developing templates for pre-existing characters for animation. This experience gave me hands-on insight into the creative pipeline and collaborative process of stop-motion filmmaking.

CHARACTER DESIGN

A key challenge of this internship was adapting to the established visual language of the ‘Ned Universe’ in a short time. To match their style, I studied Paper Brain’s earlier works and similar projects, practiced recreating their characters and gradually refine day approach until I could design new assets seamlessly for the final templates. This experience strengthened my adaptability and deepened my understanding of working within a defined artistic framework.
